Revenge Of An Indian King For His Insult As Common Man In Britain
This is the story of the past which is not well known but this true story showed that self respect dealt with pride can do wonders and acclaim your worth world over.
This true story is way back in 1920 of King Jai Singh who visited London and was walking in simple and casual appearance in Bond Street. the king came across the Rolls Royce Showroom in the bond street and thought of paying a visit to inquire about the price and specifications of Rolls Royce Care.

The Salesman at the British Showroom humiliated the king by judging on his appearance and ill treated King Jai Singh thinking him to be another poor Indian Citizen, the salesman showed him the way out of the showroom and humiliated him. After this insult King Jai Singh returned to his hotel room and asked his servants to call the showroom that King of Alwar city wants to inquire their few cars.
But this time red carpet was rolled out in the showroom and all the salesman in the showroom lined up to honor the King Visit. After a couple of hours the king visited the showroom in a royal manner and appearance. The king decided to purchase all the six cars which were in the showroom and he paid its full cost in cash including the delivery charges.
When all six Rolls Royce cars reached India, the king ordered the Municipality to use all the six cars to transport and collect garbage in the city. The world number one manufacturer car company were baffled by the news of Indian King using their cars as garbage van spread all over world and sales of their cars dropped sharply.

Once pride of all cars and owning this car was considered as symbol of richness was now being used as garbage car was real humiliating for the company. People said," Oh, the same car used in India for garbage collection." This was a massive insult for the Rolls Royce and revenue dropped significantly. The company then sent a telegram to the Indian King apologizing for their behavior while he visited their showroom in London and also offered him six more Rolls Royce free of cost. After this the king accepted their apology and stopped using the car as garbage collection vehicle.
This was a true example of judging a book by its cover. Britain who was a nation which had so many colonies worldwide and was ruling all over world and termed as Sun never sets in Britain had to face humiliation after this incidence.
