As per government decision on NO Polythene and prevent environmental pollution single use polythene has been completely banned from today.

The government has also issued an order to ban polythene and a fine has also been fixed for it. Government has now banned thin foil made of single use plastic, plastic tea cups found on the street, water bottles, cold drinks bottles and cold drink straws.

PM Modi had targeted to free India from single-use plastic by the year 2022. In his speech from the Red Fort, he appealed to the countrymen to stop using single-use plastic.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
