Before the assembly elections in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena has suffered a major setback. Around 200 Shiv Sena workers have resigned from the party.

Those who resigned also include the District Chief and Deputy Chief of Maharashtra Division.  It is being told that these workers were unhappy with the distribution of seats of Aravali and Belapur with BJP.

For the assembly elections, there is no formal announcement on the agreement between BJP and Shiv Sena on seat sharing.

But according to confirmed sources Shiv Sena is being convinced by BJP on 124 seats. In such a situation, if the Shiv Sena enters the assembly elections on 124 seats, then the Bharatiya Janata Party will contest 146 seats out of 288 assembly seats in the state.

At the same time, smaller parties of coalition like Republican Party of India can contest the remaining seats.
