Delhi Uncontrolled Pollution: Are Preventive Measures Enough

In Delhi odd and even policy is on the rule today.  Delhi Chief Minister in a media interface has urged the Center to take appropriate action by taking meeting of the neighboring state along with Delhi so that the air pollution amounting by the stubble burning of farms may be controlled and the farmers of neighboring states have been stubble burning.   Delhi CM has also urged the Center to intervene in the present situation.

However odd and even number of vehicles in the capital city has come into effect and since today morning volunteer of Police, defence and various NGO's have come up and are advocating the public to implement odd and even effectively.

Today no fine is charged under this but from tomorrow a fine of Rs 4000/- will be implemented if the policy is not followed.

Today to bring awareness among the public Delhi Deputy chief Minister went to his office in bicycle as his car is number has fallen in the odd number.  This is a good message by the Deputy CM to the public to spread the awareness.

Today also the air quality level is at the poorest and at many places the levels is crossing 900 level. Many flights coming to Delhi has been diverted.

Schools are shut down till Tuesday and closure of the schools may extend further.  The odd even scheme will also effect the vehicles coming from outside Delhi.
