Prime Minister Modi To Meet PM Of Japan


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be meeting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today. Apart from this, PM Modi will also meet Vietnam's Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Australian PM Scott Morrison. 

After this, PM Modi will also participate in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Summit.

There is a degree of confusion among 16 countries of Asia, including India, on the agreement on the free trade agreement under the RCEP, because India has already made it clear that it will be involved in a fair and transparent agreement. India is demanding protection of domestic industries.

As reported earlier RCEP is an FTA i.e Free Trade Agreement. PM Modi will be attending three summit:- ASEAN-India, East Asia and RCEP summits in Thailand

Negotiations between ASEAN member countries (Brunei, Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand are underway on this mega free trade agreement is.
