Today is the second day of Chhath worship. The second day is fasting. On this second day people who observe fast worship the sun by bathing in the evening and enjoy sweet prasad of Kheer.
Along with Kheer, Prasad is also distributed on a thick roti made of fire. On the second day, women observe fast and stay hungry throughout the day. Prasad is distributed among all the people in the evening.
The quietest corner of the house is chosen for the worship of Kharna. While doing Kharti, the Vratis calm down and worship the sun. During this time every outside person is denied entry. At the time of Kharna, the devotees worship the sun by burning incense, lamps and incense sticks.
On the next day, women stand in the river, pond or water in the evening and offer arghya to the sun. Ardhya is offered to the rising sun on this day. The next day the worship ends with the morning arghya. Ardhya is offered by standing in a river or pond before sunrise on the last day.
