CAA Ruckus All Over North India

The fire of the Citizenship Amendment Bill has now shifted from Delhi to Uttar Pradesh.  There is a lot of  in Delhi, so the ruckus has started in many districts of Uttar Pradesh.  

Many metro stations in Delhi have been closed.  Section 144 has been implemented in the area around Lal Qila for three days.  Section 144 has also been implemented in the whole of Uttar Pradesh.  The protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has taken a violent form.  The protesters threw stones at police  personnel and shouted slogans.  During this time, the police released tear gas shells to stop the protesters.

According to the information received, additional police force has also been deployed in sensitive areas of Uttar Pradesh.  A state transport bus has been set on fire during protests in Sambhal.  The police arrested Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, a Rajya Sabha member of the Samajwadi Party, who was agitating against the government in Jhansi.  As a precaution in Lucknow, police enforcement have been deployed on the city.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
