Citizenship Amendment Bill Presented In Lok Sabha

Home Minister Amit Shah presented the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Lok Sabha today.  Under this bill, there is a provision for granting Indian citizenship to non-Muslim refugees suffering religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

 According to the list of works to be held in the Lok Sabha on Monday (December 9), the Home Minister presented the bill in the afternoon, which is an amendment to the six-decade old citizenship law, after which it will be discussed and passed.
