After the snowfall in the higher altitudes of Himachal Pradesh lower plains are experiencing freezing cold.
The mercury in the districts of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur including Manali and Kufri has gone below zero. There is a possibility of snowfall in the state from December 19, due to which the cold outbreak will intensify. Water has frozen in this area due to extreme cold. People in Manali and Kufri are shivering with cold.
Director of Meteorological Center, Shimla, Manmohan Singh said on Monday that due to clear weather across the state for the next two days, the maximum temperature may rise, but there will be no special change in the minimum temperature. He also added that there is a possibility of snowfall in the intermediate and higher mountain areas. On December 20, there will be rain and snowfall across the state.
Snowfall is also expected on 21 December. On December 22 the weather will be clear in the entire state.
Traffic on 256 roads is still at a standstill in Himachal Pradesh. These 256 roads on 6 districts. Along with them, 4 national highways are also closed. 794 power lines are still defective.
