This mission can start from today.  It is being told that a cabinet meeting has been held at 9.30 am today, in which the citizenship amendment bill can be approved.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha in 2016, after which it was submitted to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on 2 August 2016.

If today the Modi government approves the Citizen Amendment Bill in the cabinet meeting, then it can be introduced in the Lok Sabha tomorrow.  Sources say that the government has made complete preparations to get it passed in Parliament, this bill has been brought for amendment in the Citizenship Act 1955.

The passage of this bill will provide relief to minority refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.  Minorities of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christianity will come under this bill.
