An encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Awantipora town of Jammu and Kashmir.According to updates, the encounter is taking place in Satpokhran area of the town.As soon as the security forces received the news of presence of militants,the area was cordoned off.
J&K Police also tweeted giving the information about the encounter,"Encounter has started at Awantipora. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow."
From the site of encounter, the security forces have recovered arms and armament.
