Vinay Accused In Nirbhaya's Case Has Filed Curative Application In Court

Delhi's Patiala House Court has sentenced the four accused to death in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case that shocked the country.  But Vinay Sharma has approached the Supreme Court to avoid capital punishment.  Vinay has filed a curative petition in the Supreme Court.

 According to the information, Vinay has said in the petition that the court has wrongly rejected his being a minor.  While giving the verdict, his financial and family condition has not been taken into account his both mother and father are ill and also he has a good conduct in jail.  It is a violation of justice.  

The court has given death sentence in view of the collective consciousness and public opinion of the society.  Vinay has also said in the petition that even before this, the death sentence in such cases has been changed to life imprisonment.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
