Lankesh Gauri Murderer Arrested From Jharkhand

The SIT has achieved a major success in the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh.  The SIT has arrested the absconding accused Rishikesh Diwakar from Jharkhand.  Police have arrested Diwakar from Katras in Jharkhand.  

According to reports Rishikesh was living here after hiding his identity and working on the petrol pump of industrialist Pradeep Khemka and was staying on rent in the house of the owner of the petrol pump.  As reported earlier journalist Gauri Lankesh was murdered on 5 September 2017 at her house in Bangalore.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
