Government takes a step ahead to sell Air India



Government airline Air India is ready to sell as the company is under debt burden.The government is looking for an eligible buyer so that Air India can be sold.But the sources reveal that the government has put a burden on it, instead of saving it. As the payment of many VVIPs is still outstanding and the amount is Rs. 822 crore.

Apart from this, there is an outstanding of Rs 9.67 crore for the rescue work and Rs 12.65 crore for taking foreign guests. Under the VVIP Charter Flight, the Air India Company carries the President, Vice President and Prime Minister. It is paid by the ministers.

Last year, Air India, under debt, has stopped issuing tickets on credit to officials of government agencies like CBI and ED. These agencies owe tickets of more than Rs 10 lakh.
