National Hockey Player Passes Away

Former hockey player and Olympic medalist Balbir Singh Kular has passed away.  He was 77.  He died in Sansarpur village of Jalandhar, his ancestral residence.  

His funeral will take place today.  Balbir Singh won the Olympic bronze medal in 1968, he has also been a member of the Indian hockey team.

Balbir Singh has travelled to many countries.  He won a gold medal at the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1966 and a bronze at the Olympics in 1968.  The Indian hockey team has mourned the death of Balbir Singh. Balbir Singh is survived by wife, a son and two daughters.
