PM Modi Takes High Level Meeting With Ministers And CM Of Odisha

Reports have been coming in from Prime Minister Office which state that Prime Minister since today morning has been on an aerial survey of the the cyclone affected areas of West Bengal and Orissa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also today holds a review meeting with ministers and other senior officials of Odisha and West Bengal.

One such meeting was held in Bhubaneswar after the Prime Minister completed his aerial survey of the cyclone affected areas of Odisha.

This meeting was attended by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi.

As reported earlier Odisha and West Bengal were the worst hit states by the cyclone Amphan.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
