About 26000 Employees At Risk Of Losing Jobs Says Lufthansa

According to reports coming in, Lufthansa admitted that up to 26000 employees a surplus to the requirements, suggesting many more jobs will be cut at German carrier figure of more than 10000 flagged few weeks ago.

Lufthansa sports women said that the airline estimate that it is a surplus of 22000 full time equivalent position or 26000 employees. Lufthansa also pledged that a wide ranging restructuring from thousands of job cuts to asset sales as it seeks to repay 9 billion Euro state bailout and navigate deepening losses in the the face of covid-19 pandemic.

It is also said that job cuts would be significantly more than 10000 figure it had previously estimated.

The companies trying to reach will labour Union to make the workers work on part time basis and other ways to cut personal cost before it hold an extraordinary general meeting on June 25.

Also the union representing pilot said that its member had offer to take a cut in pay of up to 45% in total amounting to about 350 million euros but in returns it wants the company to try to secure as many job as possible.
