India To Boost Infrastructure In Areas Along China Border.

Reports are coming in that infrastructure along the China border will be given 10% of the Central Sponsored Schemes to the border project in ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh ,Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Sikkim. This was decided by the Ministry of Home affairs.

Rupees 784 crore in 2020-21 fiscal has been allotted by The Border Area Development Programme(BADP).This money will be distributed to border States and Union Territories depending upon the length of International border and population. In 2019-20, ₹825 crore was granted for the scheme.

According to new guidelines with effect on April 1 approved by Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, the projects which are for the development of important villages and towns in border areas and have been identified by the border guarding forces will be given priority. Around rupees 78.4 crore has been given to the project in areas inhabited along the China border.

Construction of roads, bridges, culverts, primary schools, health infrastructure, playfields, irrigation works, mini-stadiums, indoor courts for basketball, badminton and table tennis can be undertaken within 10 km of the border from the BADP funds.
