Principal Director General Of PIB Test Positive For Covid-19 , Admitted In AIIMS

Reports are coming in that Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau (PIB) , K.S. Dhatwalia has tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted to AIIMS on Sunday, June 7.


He was admitted in AIIMS at 7:00 p.m.
There was no official word on his health condition.


Reports are also coming that the National Media Centre(NMC), where his office is located will be shut down on June 8 as the entire building will be sanitised. It is also likely to be closed on June 9 as it will take a massive contact tracing exercise which is according to the standard protocol.


All the activities of PIB including the press conferences will be held in Shastri Bhawan till the time NMC is completely sanitised and reopened.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
