UGC Informs Status Of Examinations

As per reports coming in from University Grants Commission which has suggested in a press release that Universities were informed regarding the status of taking examination across the country.

Universities which had informed regarding the status of examination were in total number of 755 Universities.

Out of these 755 Universities 120 were deemed, 274 private, 40 Central and 321 State.

Out of all these 194 Universities have already taken their exams and are in the process of releasing result.

Some 366 universities are planning to conduct their examination in the month of August and September as being informed by the Universities grant commission.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
