According to the reports coming from Assam that Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma instructed CBSE ICSE Navodaya Vidyalaya that if you want to start a school in Assam you have to teach as me as a subject upto class 10th. Also in BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Area Districts) you can have Assamese or Bodo and in Barak valley you can have Assamese or Bengali.
According to the reports coming in that Assam have passed a legislation that upto class 10th, Assamese has to be taught as one of the subjects whether it be an English medium or a Hindi medium school. And today they have created the task force to implement the National Education Policy.
According to the reports coming in Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also hope to implement the national education policy from the next academic year. So now up to class 5 the medium of instruction will be in the mother tongue. Beyond class 5, Assamese will be one of the subjects.
