Alarming Rise In The Cases Of Covid-19 In India

Alarming rise in the cases of covid-19 in the country today as the country has recorded single-day spike of 83,883 new positive cases and 1,043 deaths reported in India in the last 24 hours.

These are the highest number of cases recorded in the past 24 hours.  As per reports according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare COVID19 case tally in the country till now stands at 38,53,407 including 8,15,538 active cases, 29,70,493 cases comes in the category of cured, discharged or migrated and 67,376 deaths.

As unlock 4 is in process it is expected that the situation may worsen by the time as now everything stands open in the country.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
