Covid Cases On The Rise In India

Reports have been coming in from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which has stated that the covid cases in the last 24 hours reported in the country is 45,209 new COVID19 infections.

With these new fresh cases India's total cases now stands at 90,95,807

Total deaths count in the country is 501and total number of deaths reported by Covid till now mounts to 1,33,227. Total active cases in the country stands at 4,40,962 

Total discharged cases at 85,21,617 with 43,493 new discharges in last 24 hrs.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
