SC To Hear Pleas To Remove Protesting Farmers

Reports have been coming in from Supreme Court which will hear today a batch of pleas seeking removal of farmers from various border points who are protesting against Farm Bill.

As per reports the supreme court will be hearing pleas where directions has been demanded to various authorities to immediately remove the farmers who are protesting at several border points of Delhi against three new farm laws.

The farmers have been continuously sitting on a protest against the agriculture bill in and around Delhi.  Most of the borders of Delhi has been sealed due to the ongoing protest of the farmers against the bill.  This have increased the problems for the frequent commuters to the national capital.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
