Earthquake Of 4.4 Magnitude Reported In Andaman And Nicobar Islands

Reports have been coming in from the national Centre for Seismology with has stated that a earthquake of mild magnitude has been reported from Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the wee hours of today morning.

National Centre for Seismology has reported that earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale has occurred at 0657 hours.

The epicenter of earthquake is reported at 2 km south southeast of Campbell Bay, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
