Tamil Nadu Sees Long Queues Outside Movie Theatres After Release Of New Movie Of Actor Vijay

As per latest reports coming from Tamil Nadu where the release of a new movie has seen long queues outside the movie theatres.

As per reports there have been witnessed long queues of fans of actor Vijay gathered outside Rohini Silver Screens movie theatre in Koyambedu, Chennai.

These long queues have been seen to witness and celebrate, as the actor's film 'Master' releases today. 

According to recent reports the State government has recently rolled back its decision to allow 100% occupancy at movie theatres after the active cases of new UK strain virus of Covid 19 were reported in the city.

Now after rolling back the decision of 100% occupancy in movie theatres of the state government only 50% occupancy is now allowed in the movie theatres.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
