The Series Of Festivals Start In The Country With Full Zeal

Latest reports have been coming in from the world of festivals where Pongal has been celebrated all over the country with full zest and honours.

Latest reports coming in from Andhra Pradesh where state Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao celebrates Bhogi with his family members at his residence in Vijayawada. Bhogi has been marking the beginning of the four-day Pongal festival in South India.

As per reports the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu also celebrates Bhogi with his family at Raj Bhawan in Goa. 

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu also participates in Bhogi festival at Paritala in Krishna district.  He is also celebrating this festival to mark the announcement of the start of Pongal festival.  The former CM, along with the people present there, also set fire to the government orders issued by the state govt over farmers. 

President Ramnath Kovind has also shared his greetings and best wishes to fellow citizens on Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Pongal, Bhogali Bihu, Uttarayan and Paush Parva. 

In his message the President has said that May these festivals strengthen the bond of love, affection and harmony in our society and increase prosperity and happiness in the country.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
