Very Low Visibility In North India Due To Dense Fog

Reports have been coming in from India Meteorological Department which has stated a very heavy and dense fog in whole of North India. This dense fog has created very low visibility in various parts of North India.

Dense to very dense fog observed over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and moderate to dense fog over Delhi, north-west Rajasthan, north-west Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya at 5:30 am of 18th January as per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)

Visibility at 5:30 am today (in meter) in Chandigarh, Bareilly & Gorakhpur stands at 25, Amritsar, Ambala, Ganganagar, Gwalior, Baharaich, Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnea, Guwahati, Tezpur, Agartala and Silchar stands at 50 and Patiala, Hisar, Agra and Lucknow - 200 each. Delhi-Safdarjung and Palam stands at 500.

Due to dense fog many trains and flights are running late bi more than 2 to 3 hours.  The flights are either being rescheduled or being cancelled because of very low visibility in most of the cities of North India.
