Ola, the country's leading cab provider, is all set to enter the two-wheeler market. The company is going to launch its first electric scooter in the domestic market soon. Recently this scooter has been spotted during testing, according to media reports, this scooter can be offered for sale in the next few months.
Let me tell you, Ola acquired the Netherlands' electric scooter brand Etergo only last year. The company will use the technology and features of Atargo in its upcoming scooter. Although the scooter that was spotted during testing was completely camouflage (cover), but despite this, some things related to the design and features of this scooter have been revealed.
As far as the Etergo brand is concerned, its AppScooter is very famous in its segment and has won many awards. This scooter offers a driving range of up to 240 kilometers and is capable of catching a speed of 45 kilometers per hour in just 3.9 seconds. It also has a storage capacity of 50 liters capacity.
According to the report published in Autocar, the model offered in the Indian market will have a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour and this scooter can give a driving range of up to 100 kilometers. Not much information is known about this scooter at the moment, but a swappable (removeable) Li-ion battery can be used in this scooter.
Ola recently announced that it has signed an agreement (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu state government. The company is setting up the world's largest scooter factory in the state. According to the information, Ola will invest about Rs 2,400 crore in the construction of this factory. The annual production capacity of this factory will be 2 million units. 10,000 people are expected to get jobs from this factory. The company says that this factory will not only provide employment opportunities but it will also strengthen the technical sector of the country.
