The accident occurred in Chamoli in Uttarakhand, where the water level suddenly rose due to the breaking of the glacier, which hit the power project and the laborers working in it. There is a possibility of 150 people working in the project, these people are not being contacted. According to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, the Rishi Ganga power project is likely to be completely destroyed. 


The water flow is reaching the districts below Chamoli, although according to the state government, the speed of water has slowed down when it reaches the bottom. The impact of the flood is expected to reach Haridwar by 9 pm. The government of Uttar Pradesh has also issued an alert regarding the impact of floods.
