PayPal, a company of well-known businessman Alan Musk, has announced the closure of the domestic payments business in India from 1 April. PayPal Holdings Inc. announced its move in a statement on Friday.


PayPal, a well-known company based in San Jose, an IT hub in California, USA, provides payment services worldwide. But now the company will close the business in India. According to the company, Pay-Pal will focus on the business of cross-border payments even after finishing business in India. Which means that customers residing abroad will still be able to make payments to Indian merchants using the service.



The company went on to state that from 1 April 2021, we will focus all our attention on enabling more international sales for Indian businesses and are going to discontinue our domestic products in India. This means that we will no longer offer domestic payment services within India from 1 April.
