Philippines earthquake strikes, magnitude 6.3 on Richter scale



A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Richter scale on Sunday in Davao del Sur province of the Philippines. Officials said there was a possibility of damage due to the earthquake.


Manila: A 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Richter scale on Sunday in Davao del Sur province of the Philippines. Officials said there was a possibility of damage due to the earthquake. According to the report of Xinhua, the Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcano (Fivolux) said that the quake occurred at 12.25 pm (local time). Its center was 6 kilometers southeast of Magsaysay, at a depth of 15 meters. The institute has stated that more tremors may occur after this earthquake, which will also cause damage.


The tremor was also felt in Coronadal town, Kadapavan town and Mindana area in South Kotabato. No casualties or injuries were reported immediately after the earthquake.
