Rahul -Priyanka expressed grief over the death of Capt. Satish Sharma, closed to Rajiv Gandhi.

 


Sharma, a close associate of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, served as the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas from 1993 to 1996 in the Narasimha Rao government. Born on 11 October 1947 in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, Sharma was a professional commercial pilot. Satish Sharma was the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas in the Narasimha Rao government from 1993 to 1996.

 Fromer Congress President Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and many other party leaders expressed grief on the demise of former Union Minister Captain Satish Sharma on Thursday and said that they will always feel the deficiency. Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "I feel very sad to hear about the death of Captain Satish Sharma. I have affection and condolences to his family and friends. We will miss them. "Priyanka said," May God bless the soul of Captain. He was a very good, friendly man of Delhi and was loyal till the end. He lived life brilliantly. I will miss them very much."

Congress leader and former Union Minister Captain Satish Sharma died in Goa on Wednesday. He was 73 year old. Sharma was suffering from cancer and had been ill for some time.

Rajya Sabha member was first formed in 1986



First became a Rajya Sabha member in June 1986 and later was elected a Lok Sabha member from Amethi in 1991 following the demise of Rajiv Gandhi. He then served as a Rajya Sabha member from July 2004 to 2016. Sharma was lived with his wife, son and daughter. Senior Congress leader Ranjip Surjewala tweeted, " I am deeply saddened by the death of former Union Minister Captain Satish Sharma. Captain Sharma was an epitome of dedication and loyalty. I express my condolences to his family and friends."
