A video of Congress party's Indore president Vinay Bakaliwal is going viral on social media, in which he is seen swearing the Holy Quran to the party's Muslim activists. The video was allegedly shot on February 1.

Responding to the allegations, the party's state spokesman Dr. Amin-ul Khan Suri said on Monday, "It is very common to take such oath. This video is of the party workers present at a conference where all the five potential councilor candidates were present. . Bakliwal administered the oath to him that whoever gets the ticket among them, the other four will help him wholeheartedly. They will work towards making the party victorious. "

Suri further said that the BJP was spreading rumors that the oath was taken on the Holy Quran. He said, "BJP always tries to link religion with politics. The conference did not contain the Holy Quran. Bakliwal promised the workers their loyalty."

Vinay Bakaliwal organized a conference with party workers of ward number two in Chandan Nagar area of ​​Indore on 1 February in which all the possible councilor candidates were present. In the presence of Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla at the conference, Bakaliwal administered an oath to prospective Muslim candidates that they would remain committed to the party, irrespective of the candidates being elected.

The video is heard saying, "I swear that I believe in the policies of the Congress party. And I swear by the Holy Quran that I will work with honesty. Whoever gets the councilor's ticket by the Congress party , As well as will work to get the Mayor candidate Sanjay Shukla a landslide victory. ''
