Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on kolkata fire while speaking to ANI has said that all possible assistance has been provided by Railways to State Govt during this unfortunate fire accident. 

A high-level inquiry consisting of four Principal heads of Railway departments has been ordered to ascertain cause of fire.

Sincere condolences to the families of the 9 brave deceased including the 4 firefighters, 2 railways personnel and a police ASI who were fighting the fire at the Eastern Railways Strand road office in Kolkata as per Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
