Big bank strike in India, alarm for the goverment!



In India goverment bank Employees are striking all over the country with having the slogan "Retrograde Banking Reforms".


The number is around 10 lakhs who are the part of the united forum of bank unions have been protesting in the country for the last month and have now called for a two day nationwide bank strike on 15 & 16 March.


"The names of the banks were not mentioned union finance minister's budget speech which shows that the government has no planning and preparation. They are not ready to talk with the bankers for whom they are formulating these policies" said by Pankaj Kapoor general secretary bank of India officers association.


Reason behind the strike:


Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister of India had announced the privatisation of two public sector banks as part of the government's disinvestment plan as part of the union budget 2021.


As IDBI bank already been privatised by selling its majority stake in the lender of LIC in 2019 and has merged 14 public sector banks in the last four years.
