A fake WhatsApp message has been circulating and claiming to deliver free Amazon gifts on the company's 30th anniversary.
“Amazon 30th Anniversary Celebrations – Gifts for everyone from www.amazon.com,” the message says. “Congratulations, you have been selected to participate in our survey. It will only take a minute and you will get an amazing prize, a Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G 8GB+256GB (Bright black),” the message says when users click it.
The message also promises to improve the quality of services through the survey which includes four questions that are based on gender, age, Amazon services quality and the smartphone that individual owns.
According to cyber experts, this activity can be a scam where cyber-criminals could be looking for your personal details or can use the data to either call and defame you or for identity theft.
