Supreme Court Dismisses Plea Against National Green Tribunal

Latest reports have been coming in from the supreme authority of the country Supreme Court which has dismissed a plea challenging National green tribunal for a complete ban on use of firecrackers.

According to reports coming in Supreme Court has dismissed a plea challenging the National Green Tribunal's (NGT) order which had imposed a complete ban on the sale and use of all firecrackers during the COVID-19 pandemic in cities where the Air Quality Index (AQI) was poor. 

National green tribunal have passed an order to impose ban on the use and sale of firecrackers due to covid-19 pandemic so as to improve the air quality index of the city.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
