EAM S Jaishankar addressed UNSC Open Debate Between UN And Sub-Regional Organisation

Latest reports have been coming in from External Affairs Ministry which has shared EAM S Jaishankar addressed UNSC open debate on Cooperation between UN and Sub-Regional Organisations (African Union), via video conference.

In this meeting EAM S Jaishankar has stated that India appreciates because of its own experience that the root cause for conflict in Africa lies in its colonial history.

EAM S Jaishankar said this while addressing UNSC open debate on Cooperation between UN and Sub-Regional Organisations (African Union), via video conference.

On matters related to peace and security, UNSC should respect the regional approach adopted by countries involved.

According to EAM S Jaishankar at UNSC open debate has stated that the countries have to work in collaboration with regional organisations to address these shared challenges.

The spread of terrorism in Africa, as evident from the challenges we face in the Sahel, Somalia, and central and east Africa, is a matter of serious concern. 

This has been stated by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at UNSC open debate on Cooperation between UN and Sub-Regional Organisations (AU).

India and Africa share a unique and historical relationship. Our approach to this partnership was enunciated by PM Narendra Modi in 2018 through Ten Guiding Principles. 

We have worked with Africa as per Africa’s priorities, Africa’s comfort and Africa’s aspirations according to EAM S Jaishankar.

We believe that Africa’s rise is essential for true multi-polarity in the global order and are committed to supporting that happening. 

India’s support has always been without any conditionalities or any hidden agenda according to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at a UNSC open debate.
