Minister Piyush Goyal Says 2 to 4 Big Names Destroyed The Entire Sector

Latest reports have been coming in from commerce and industry Ministry where Commerce and Industry minister Piyush Goyal has said that 2 to 4 big names destroyed the entire sector. 

According to the Minister every jeweller knew who they were and what they did. But the sad part is that all of that happened because somebody was signing that balance sheet.

As per reports Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal while launching project CA Udaan in Delhi.

The Minister also added that we can't ignore that reality and common thread in that all that has happened across the country is us (Chartered Accountants).

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
