According to the sources Attukal Pongala is a 10-day religious festival celebrated at the Attukal Bhagavathy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram in the state of Kerala.
As per reports on the ninth day there will be a huge gathering of millions of women on the temple surroundings.
According to the sources on the special day, devotees offer bangles to Goddess Kannaki. On the ninth day, which is known as Pooram, the temple witnesses a sea of women devotees who perform several rituals and rites.
As per reports Pongala, a sweet dish made of rice, jaggery, ghee and coconut, is prepared by devotees in earthen pots.
