Transferring MIG Jets To Ukraine Would Be High Risk: Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby

Latest reports have been coming in from United States of America where Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby in a media statement has said that we do not support the transfer of additional fighter aircraft to the Ukrainian Air Force at this time.

According to the reports coming Ukraine was demanding the fighter jets to Ukrainian Air Force and Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby says that therefore we have no desire to see fighter jets in our custody either.

According to reports Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby further stated that we believe the best way to support the Ukrainian defence is by providing them with the weapons.

As per reports weapons assistance that they need most to defeat Russian aggression in particular anti-armour and air defence according to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby.

He has further stated that Ukrainian Air Force currently has several squadrons of fully mission-capable aircraft.

We access that adding aircraft to Ukrainian inventory won't significantly change the effectiveness of Ukrainian Air force relative to Russian capabilities according to Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby.

We believe the gain from transferring MiG-29s is low. This may be mistaken as escalatory and could result in a significant Russian reaction that might increase prospects of military escalation with NATO.

We also assess this transfer to be 'high-risk' according to Pentagon Press Secy John Kirby.

Alternative options to help Ukraine include working with other allies and partner nations around the world who may have additional air defence capabilities willing to provide them to Ukraine.

We're having discussions with many countries regarding this according to Pentagon Press Secy John Kirby.
