The Chinese military said on Saturday that a recent American airstrip across the Taiwan Strait had deliberately disrupted the region and threatened peace and stability.
Colonel Shi Yi, a spokesman for the Eastern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army, said in a statement that the military had deployed air and ground troops to monitor the operation of the U.S. aircraft, which happened on Friday.
He added that they strongly opposed American actions and that their troops were always vigilant.
