"He Could Not Believe What We Saw": David Warner Thanks Sri Lankan Fans After ODI Series

Fans of the Sri Lanka cricket team showed gratitude to the visiting Australian team during the 5th and final ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. As fans came out with "Thank You Australia" placards, Aussie veteran David Warner acknowledged the action taken by local fans, and congratulated Sri Lanka on winning their first ODI series against Australia in 30 years. Taking to Instagram, Warner shared an exciting post with local fans.

"The white football series is over and we congratulate Sri Lanka on the victory. We cannot thank the Sri Lankan community enough for coming out and supporting both teams. The crowds at this game are excellent. We could not believe what we saw yesterday and these pictures mean everything," he said.

As it happens, Sri Lanka is facing a major economic crisis, which has led to massive protests across the Island.

The recently concluded white football series between the two teams has been able to bring back joy to the people of Sri Lanka.

Throughout the series, the support of fans of both teams was unbelievable to say the least.

Sri Lanka's 3-2 win was their first ODI series win over Australia at home since 1992.
