Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath's helicopter arrived in Varanasi this morning following a bird strike shortly after takeoff, officials said.
The Prime Minister, who had been visiting Varanasi for two days, later took a flight to Lucknow.
Officials said the bird smashed the window of a helicopter to Lucknow after leaving Varanasi. The pilot then asked for an emergency evacuation. There were no reports of injuries, they added.
"The bird flew on the Prime Minister's helicopter after it left here (Varanasi) for Lucknow, after which it had to land here," said District Magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma.
