Over 19 lakh Devotees Took Char Dham Yatra This Year In Uttarakhand


Recent reports have been coming from Uttarakhand as more than 19 lakh devotees have taken up the Char Dham Yatra since the march began on May 3 this year, informing the Badrinath-kedarnath Temple community on Sunday.

The Temple Committee stated that as of June 11, the total number of pilgrims arriving at Uttarakhand Char Dham was 19,04,253.

Forms from May 8 to June 11 in the evening, 6,57,547 travelers reached Badrinath Dam while 6,33,548 travelers reached Kedarnath Dham from May 6 to June 11 in the evening.

The government of Uttarakhand, on May 11, announced its decision to increase the number of travelers by one thousand in Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

Now, about 8,000 and 5,000 travelers can visit Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, a day, respectively.

This year, Yatra registration also saw a new record as it has registered more than 10 lakh travelers.

Twenty-six people were killed and four others injured when a bus carrying passengers from the Panna district in Madhya Pradesh fell into a deep ravine.

It was on its way to the Yamunotri temple in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand on June 5, according to officials. Apart from the driver and assistant, there were 28 passengers.
