Rajasthan Teen Bowler, praised by Rahul Gandhi, gets training support

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday met 16-year-old Bharat Singh, who was praised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his bowling skills, and said the boy would train at the cricket academy at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium (SMS).
Mr. Singh hails from Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. Mr Gandhi on Wednesday retweeted a video in which the boy was seen honing his bowling skills using a fishing net.


Impressed by his talent, Mr. Gandhi asked Mr. Gehlot to help him fulfill his dream. Mr. Singh met Mr. Gehlot at the Chief Minister's house in Jaipur.

Mr. Gehlot said that Mr. Singh would get training from expert coaches at the cricket academy, adding that he would be provided with all facilities including accommodation and food.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
