Rajinikanth shows off his chess moves as Tamil Nadu hosts the mega tournament

Superstar Rajinikanth today said he loves chess "most" and saluted chess players as Tamil Nadu prepares to host the 44th Chess Olympiad, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.
Taking to her twitter using the hashtag #ChessOlympiad2022, the megastar said, "The game of chess I love the most... I wish all chess minds the best... God bless."


Rajinikanth also posted an undated photo of himself playing chess and looking pensive.

The 44th Chess Olympiad will be held in Mamallapuram, about 50 km from Chennai, from July 28 to August 10.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
