Amravati (Maharashtra): A 2-storey dilapidated building collapsed in Amravati, Maharashtra. 5 people died in the accident, while 2 people are injured. Amravati Police has given information about the matter.
The incident took place in the Prabhat Talkies cinema area of Amravati. District Collector Pavneet Kaur said that many people were present in the building at the time of the accident.
So far the bodies of 5 people have been recovered. Two people were injured after being buried under the rubble. He has been sent to the hospital for treatment. Relief and rescue work is going on.
In July, the Municipal Corporation had sent a notice to demolish the building: A municipal official said the building was in a dilapidated condition. The Amravati Municipal Corporation had issued a notice for demolition of the building in July.
Even after this the building was not demolished. Pavneet Kaur said that the matter will be investigated, strict action will be taken against those responsible for this.
