Haryana: 'I Will Live Up To People’s Expectations', Bhavya Bishnoi Says After Taking Oath As MLA


Chandigarh: Bhavya Bishnoi, elected MLA from Haryana's Adampur assembly seat, took oath of office and secrecy. Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand Gupta administered the oath of office to Bhavya as a member of the Assembly. Now the number of BJP MLAs in the assembly has increased to 41. Bhavya's father Kuldeep Bishnoi and other family members were also present during the swearing-in.

After taking oath, Bishnoi spoke to media persons and said, “I assure the people of Adampur that I will try to live up to their expectations and work with full dedication so that Adampur gets all the benefits of development. I have full faith in Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and the way he is working to ensure equitable development across all the 90 Assembly constituencies. I am sure he will continue to do the same even in the future.”

Earlier Dushyant Chautala was the youngest MLA: Bhavya Bishnoi, 29, is the youngest MLA in the current Haryana Legislative Assembly. In the current assembly, 45 MLAs have been elected for the first time. Earlier Dushyant Chautala was the youngest MLA.

Sixth member of former CM Bhajan Lal's family to become an MLA: Bhavya also became the sixth member of former chief minister Bhajan Lal's family to become an MLA. Bhajan Lal's wife Jasma Devi, sons Kuldeep Bishnoi and Chander Mohan and daughter-in-law Renuka Bishnoi were members of the Vidhan Sabha. Bhavya is the grandson of Bhajan Lal.

Bhavya's father Kuldeep Bishnoi had quit Congress and joined BJP: The Adampur bypoll was necessitated after Bhavya's father Kuldeep Bishnoi quit Congress and joined BJP in August, forcing him to resign from the Vidhan Sabha. Speaker Gian Chand Gupta said, “I congratulate Bhavya Bishnoi and hope that he will live up to the expectations of the people of his constituency. I hope that he will work in the public interest and for the development of his constituency."

The by-election was held on November 3 and in the counting of votes on November 6, Bhavya Bishnoi won by 15 thousand 740 votes.

Kuldeep Bishnoi ready to contest elections from Rajasthan: Former MLA from Adampur and BJP leader Kuldeep Bishnoi said that he is ready to contest the elections if the party fields him in the assembly or Lok Sabha elections from Rajasthan. Bishnoi said that his active politics will continue. Although the desire is to stay in Haryana only, but if the BJP high command asks him to contest from Rajasthan, he is ready.

Will continue to work in the interest of the party: Kuldeep said that even if the party does not field him in the elections, he will continue to work in the interest of the party. He said that son Bhavya will continue to work for the people of Adampur. On the other hand, Kuldeep Bishnoi attacked Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra and said that Congress is not connecting with Congress, from where India will connect.

The date of assembly session will be decided in cabinet meeting: The decision on the winter session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly will be taken in the cabinet meeting to be held on December 1. The session usually takes place in the last week of December.
